In mid-August, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) conducted two draws, inviting a total of 767 candidates to apply for the provincial nomination. Among these, 743 candidates were invited through the Alberta Opportunity Stream, which is one of the most favorable pathways for skilled workers looking to settle in Alberta.

The Alberta Opportunity Stream is designed to assist candidates with skills and job experience specifically in Alberta. For Vietnamese individuals looking to immigrate to Canada, this is encouraging news. Alberta not only offers a stable living environment but also presents numerous job opportunities in sectors where there is a shortage of labor.

When examining the labor demand in Alberta, it is evident that the province needs skilled workers across various fields, including information technology, healthcare, construction, and services. This means that if you possess the right skills, the chance to receive an invitation to apply for a nomination could be well within reach.

In addition to having work experience, a key requirement for participating in the Alberta Opportunity Stream is that applicants must hold a valid work permit in Canada. This may necessitate obtaining a job offer from an Alberta employer or demonstrating prior working experience in the province for a specified duration. If you are currently in the process of applying for a temporary visa, do not hesitate to engage in training or educational programs to enhance your skills, thus increasing your chances of finding employment in the province.

During the two draws conducted from August 14 to 19, 24 candidates were invited through the Dedicated Health Care Pathway, another program under the AAIP aimed at professionals in the healthcare industry. This indicates that Alberta is investing in and focusing on the healthcare sector, providing opportunities for workers in this field to pursue a sustainable future in Canada.

As an RCIC based in Winnipeg, I understand that the decision to immigrate is one of the biggest choices in life. Pursuing the dream of settling in Canada involves not only choosing a province but also considering several factors such as job opportunities, living environment, and support from the community.
